Hi there!

I don't know how it's already been a week. Luckily, I was already feeling much better on Friday and made a full recovery from my cold. We are getting very close to releasing the next version of the website, with lots of time going into spreadsheets, SEO, and website development.

CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK: CHANGE OF TENSION = RECOVERY TIME

I was very stressed last week with the state of the product catalogues that were supposed to but weren't actually, saving me time. For context, I had processed 100 items from one Product Catalog for St. Frock from the original output to the format that was acceptable. It took about 8 hours. There were another 1500 items to go. Then, there was Birdsnest which had connected completely the wrong items. So I was manually scraping the website. I presumed this would take me about a week.

Luckily for me, two people in the team came to the rescue. Firstly, Grant showed me how to reformat the input automatically. It was like a magic trick! And it only took about 20 seconds. I was prepared to spend probably tens of hours processing this damn spreadsheet. I nearly cried, I was so happy!

In 20 seconds, Grant took the algorithm from unusable to formatted. Magic!

Then, Tanja said her VA could process the Birdsnest spreadsheet, and reformat all the sheets so they were uniform and ready to be uploaded to the website. This will save me so much time!

This is all excellent news, but the funny thing is, I was busy pushing forward so hard, that once all that momentum and pressure was taken away, I was a little at a loss and almost felt depressed. It took me a few days to regear and find new momentum.

WIN FOR THE WEEK: IT’S ALL COMING TOGETHER

The website front is being completely rebuilt and put together in a scalable way. I will be able to track all the items (unlike with the MVP), there will be more SEO tags for Google to read than you can poke a stick at, the Figma wireframes are looking very exciting, and customer funnels, etc. are all being taken into account.

We've had a couple of team meetings with everyone, and it is so good to see everyone getting along and working creatively together. It's also a sign that we are in a great place, that generally everyone agrees on what the areas to focus on are, and what outcomes we are aiming for.

I am very much looking forward to offering an excellent service! Soon!

IN OTHER NEWS

This is a little left-field, but I'm going to be in an opera next week! National Opera is putting on Puccini's Suor Angelica, and I am going to be playing/singing the Mistress of the Novices. Music is really what got me into this business in the first place - I always joke that I have moved sideways from sound into colour - and opera, although a difficult medium, has a very special place in my heart. When done well, it is the peak of aural perfection - kind of like what seasonal colour analysis can do visually for people's aesthetics.
