Hi there!

This week has had a lot more movement in it! I've been working on algorithm training; I had an excellent meeting with the web development team and marketing team last night and have been reaching out to some potential mentors to develop my strategy and knowledge around affiliate marketing.

CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK: NOT EVERYTHING IS YOUR STRENGTH

So, after a slow start with the website development over the last month, I decided to get everybody in the room together so we could sort out what needs to be done, why things maybe aren't moving smoothly, and what our realistic timelines are for website front-end redevelopment.

It was a great meeting, where we covered lots of ground. It turns out that the website has already been almost completely rebuilt as it was. There were a few things I needed to address that I hadn't realised (oops!), which was part of the delay, and then we can move on adding Tanja's flourishes, and the items, rehome the domain, and have the new website up by the end of February! That is excellent news!! Originally, Toai had quoted me potentially 6 months, which was concerning for me.

I have been asked to show traction over the next 3-6 months, which would be very hard to do without a functioning website!

But when I tell you that I sat through that wonderful meeting feeling like an absolute dunce, I am not kidding. The terminology these technical developers used (Tanja is a marketer, but also has experience in building websites and SEO) and the solutions that they came up with were exciting but made me feel like I was mentally wading through mud. All I could do was keep thanking everyone for the work they were putting in because there was no way I would have a functioning business soon or ever without their help!

Grant patiently helped me set up some testing. Look, Mum, I'm ~programming~!

WIN FOR THE WEEK: PROGRESS

This week I am focusing on jobs that I have been able to tick off. I read through the constitution draft. I admit I will probably have to read it again and add some more notes for our meeting. The meeting, however, has been moved from today to next Monday, so I have some more time.

I have been processing images for the algorithm training, and it is very exciting to see it improving in terms of accuracy for patterns.

A little sneak peek at the algorithm. Still lots more developments to come!

Recently, I have been called both 'bold' and 'ballsy' as a businessperson and, despite last night's 'dunce' experience, I am trying to enjoy these labels at least as much as those humbling feelings.

Come join me at CBRIN's Female Founders: Tradeshow Edition next Tuesday 12.15-1.30 pm. It should be a great event supporting female founders in the ACT area. Tickets are available here.

Thanks for reading along! If you can think of anyone interested in joining me on this journey, please invite them to subscribe to the newsletter here.
