The wardrobe that you can put together is that much more harmonious, versatile, and curated to suit you
Why do we buy clothes? For particular occasions? To update our wardrobe every few seasons? When do things wear out? Boredom? We are assaulted with the message to buy, buy, buy! It can be difficult to know where to start.
Nobody gets to start from scratch, so you are usually adding items to an already eclectic mix of items.
The holy grail of form meets function is the capsule wardrobe. It's approximately 32 items (not including underwear and sportswear, etc.) that you can mix and match. They are supposed to be good quality items that will last you at least several seasons, if not longer!
There are sites like this one that will put together wardrobes for you, based mostly on style and personality, but there is another really important aspect to be taken into account: colour.
I believe the reason that sites like this don't offer colour suggestions isn't because they don't believe it's valuable. It's because IT'S HARD. There are SO MANY VARIABLES. For Seasonal Colour Analysis, you have to take the hue, chroma and value of the colours into account and then find the items that match, which is a long, exhaustive search (I know. I'm working on it right now.).
However, the wardrobe that you can put together is that much more harmonious, versatile, and curated to suit you.
So, is it worth even bothering about getting your colours right? Have a read of this blog post and let me know what you think!
Seasonal Colour Analysis is a system of 12 colour palettes that suit different combinations of hair, skin and eye colours and undertones. It allows you to build a synchronised, flexible wardrobe full of high-quality items, that not only suit you but also work together wonderfully.
Ultimately, you control your wallet and your expenditure. However, because you can invest in items that are going to serve you for the long run, you don't need AND WON'T WANT TO continually update your wardrobe.
